Zonin Family

The wines of Tenuta Il Bosco are deeply rooted in the tradition of Oltrepò Pavese, with a strong focus on Pinot Noir, the flagship grape of the region.

Tenuta Il Bosco - Oltrenero, located in Zenevredo in the Oltrepò Pavese (Lombardy), has origins dating back to the Middle Ages, when Benedictine monks revitalized the land and reintroduced viticulture after a period of abandonment. The area itself has an ancient winemaking tradition, already praised by classical authors like Pliny and Strabo, who described its wines and hospitality as early as the 1st century BC.

Oltrepò Pavese is historically significant as one of the first Italian regions to produce sparkling wines using Pinot Noir, thanks to the ideal conditions for this noble grape. This long-standing tradition continues to define the identity of the estate.

A major turning point came in 1987, when the Zonin family acquired the property. At that time, the estate covered around 30 hectares of vineyards. Through continuous investment, research, and careful vineyard development, the estate has expanded significantly and today includes over 150 hectares of vineyards.

Tenuta Il Bosco combines historical heritage with modern viticulture, focusing on enhancing the potential of the terroir through careful site selection, clonal research, and sustainable vineyard practices.
